Free Internet AccessFree Internet access through dial-up accounts is still available, although no one can be certain how long this trend will continue. Over the years, several free Internet access providers have opened but most have gone bankrupt. Some available will require a credit card in case you go over your limit for the month, while others will simply discontinue your service until the next month. The two most popular free Internet access providers still around are Netzero (www.netzero.com) and Juno (www.juno.com). They decided to merge in 2001, but they still operate two separate applications as of this year. You receive 10 hours of free Internet each month. Both services require viewers to watch ads while surfing, and both track your movements while on-line. But for many light Internet users, this is a price they are willing to pay in order for the money not to come out of their own pocket. If you need more time, you can opt for one of the several low-priced Internet access plans offered by several companies. Many provide 20 hours of service for between $5 and $10 a month. Most unlimited Internet access providers charge between $10 and $20 a month.
